KIM QUANG BUDDHIST YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP  HỌC BỔNG GIA ÐÌNH PHẬT TỬ KIM QUANG  

Purpose:  

The purpose of the Kim Quang Buddhist Youth Scholarship is designed to provide a small financial reward  and encouragement to students who demonstrate commitment to GÐPT, academic excellence, and a  willingness to contribute to the betterment of their families, schools, and community. One of our goals at  GÐPT is to instill the principle that happiness and social well-being of each individual, our families, and  communities will depend upon the daily practice and application of the basic teaching of Buddha –  compassion and wisdom; commitment to excellence; and service to others. Thus, we believe this scholarship  will be served as an encouragement to continue these efforts and a small reward for the diligent practice of  the Buddha’s teaching.  

Mục Đích:  

Học Bổng GĐPT Kim Quang nhằm khích lệ tinh thần và một chút tài chánh để khuyến khích những đoàn  sinh hiểu biết những căn bản của GĐPT, và có lý tưởng phục vụ cho gia đình, học đường, và xã hội. Ở  GĐPT, chúng tôi hiểu là hạnh phúc và an lạc của mỗi cá nhân, gia đình, và xã hội sẽ tùy thuộc vào nền tảng  giáo lý căn bản của Đạo Phật - Từ bi, Trí tuệ - và cũng tùy thuộc vào những người có tinh thần phục vụ cho  lợi ích nhân sinh. Những nguyên tắc trên là kim chỉ nam của tổ chức GĐPT; đã được hướng dẫn và dạy dỗ  cho đoàn sinh ở mọi lứa tuổi. Vì vậy cho nên chúng tôi tin là học bổng này sẽ hỗ trợ các em tiếp tục lý  tưởng phục vụ trên. 

Eligibility Requirements:  

- Current high school senior graduating in June 2025  

- Vietnamese heritage or at least 50% Asian heritage  

- Currently an active member of GÐPT in the United States of America with a minimum of 2 years  membership.  

- Plan to attend a community college or university in Fall 2025  

Điều Kiện:  

- Đang là học sinh lớp 12 niên khóa 2024-2025 và sẽ tốt nghiệp Trung Học vào tháng 6/2025 - Tối  thiểu là 50% gốc Việt Nam hoặc Á Châu  

- Đang thường xuyên sinh hoạt với GĐPT ở Hoa Kỳ với ít nhất 2 năm thâm niên - Sẽ  ghi danh học cao đẳng hoặc đại học vào mùa thu 2025  

A Completed Application Includes:  

- Completed application form (google form-see attached link)  

- 1-2 page personal statement or 500 words essay - approximately (see application for questions) - Current high school grade transcript with minimum GPA 3.3 weighted  

- At least one letter of recommendation  

Hồ Sơ Gồm Có:  

- Điền đơn đính kèm đầy đủ  

- Viết bài luận ngắn về mình, hoặc bài tiểu luận khoảng 500 từ (xem câu hỏi trong đơn kèm) - Phiếm điểm của trường trung học với GPA tối thiểu là 3.3  

- Ít nhất là một lá thư giới thiệu  

Selection Criteria & Process:  

The criteria for selecting scholarship recipients are: personal strengths, (such as maturity,  motivation and potential to succeed), knowledge of GÐPT’s philosophy and Buddhism, community  contribution, and academic achievement.  

The Kim Quang Buddhist Youth Organization will award 3 scholarships, worth a minimum of  $750 each, to the three most qualified students.  

Điều Kiện Tuyển Chọn:  

Những khả năng cá nhân, (v.d. sự trưởng thành, động cơ, khả năng thành đạt), thông hiểu mục đích  và đường hướng của tổ chức GĐPT và Phật giáo, đóng góp cho cộng đồng, và có khả năng học lực cao.  

GĐPT Kim Quang sẽ phát 3 học bổng trị giá ít nhất $750 USD cho ba em có những điều kiện  tốt nhất được nêu trên.
