Introduction
Michael A. Bender.
Don’t move.
Feet.
Chances are, if you look down, you’re likely to see them somewhere around you, moving about, doing what they seem made to do.
Move.
Most of the time we don’t look at our feet when we move. Act of faith. Besides, there’s not much to see. Imagine someone staring at his or her feet as they walk. Seems somewhat unnatural. So, we walk and walk, move about from place to place, and we rarely engage the soles that make it happen. And why bother trying to see the world from a foot’s point of view?
Move. So we move.
Don’t even think about standing still.
Move.
Now read these poems.
These poems are movement. Let them move you from place to place. As for you, don’t move.
Instead, look at the souls that make it happen.
Read these poems.
